On the summit of the Grand Teton with Hélène.

I have spent the majority of my life hiking, running, climbing and exploring mountains all over the world. My mountain adventures began with hill walking and camping days in Scotland when I was 12 years old which slowly evolved to winter climbing and from when I was 21 years old I climbed extensively many mixed and ice routes in Scotland, mainly in the Cairngorms, Glen Coe and on Ben Nevis.

I moved to the French Alps in 2009 at the age of 29 in search or bigger challenges. I continued to climb in the Alps and managed to do many of the classic mid grade routes in the Mont Blanc Massif both in summer and in winter, and then my running and skiing started to evolve and the winter climbing took a bit of a backseat.

Now In the winter months I spend my spare time Ski Mountaineering and average around 150,000m of elevation gain over the season, which helps rest the running legs but also helps keep me in a reasonable shape. I have raced in multiple Ski Mountaineering races in France and Norway.

In the winter of 2019 I moved to Romsdal to escape the busy Alps and to find somewhere that offered incredible, remote ski mountaineering and world class trail and mountain running.

In only a short time I have discovered many remote trails in this area and also managed to summit countless peaks in both summer and winter and have already managed the Romsdal 7 Summits(Juratind, Kvanndalstind, Store Vengetind, Romsdalshorn, Store Trolltind, Kongen and Dronninga) on skis and also in the trail running shoes.

I am UK Mountain Leader Trained with an assessment due in May 2020, and I am in the process of submitting my application to gain entry on the Norwegian Ski Guides Qualification training program run by Nordtind

Over the years I have been fortunate enough to take part in many races all around the world. Most notable are the ones listed below but there are countless more that could be added.

- Leadville Trail 100m

- Ultra Tour Monte Rosa 100m

- Angeles Crest 100m

- The Bear 100m

- Run Rabbit Run 100m

- Grand Trail Courmayeur 55km

- Grand Paradiso Trail 45km

- Hornindal Rundt 75km

- Transvulcania 73km

- Mont Blanc 80km

- Tromso Skyrace

- Glen Coe Skyline

- Trofeo Kima

- Glen Coe Ring Of Steall

- Jura Fell Race

- Leadville Silver Rush 50m

...............plus many more.

On top of all the racing I have stood on more summits than I can remember and ran hundreds of miles on trails all over the world. I have ran up and down Mont Blanc in 8 1/2hrs and I have spent many summer months in the USA where I have ran up and down the Grand Teton, Mount Whitney and had incredible days on many of the Colorado 14ers in the Sawatch, San Juan and Sangre De Cristo Mountain regions.
