Mountains & Fjords

What you need to know

Who is this trip for? - Any runner at any level can join this trip. Whether you are new to trail running or have been running on trails and in the mountains for many years. We have the flexibility if required to split groups to similar abilities and fitness if required.


The Terrain - On all of our trips we run on a variety of different trails from smooth and easy to rocky and technical. There are many places where you will be simply hiking as the trails can get steep.


Weather -  We hope you can always experience Romsdal in perfect sunshine and blue skies, however, we cannot predict the weather so please be prepared for all mother nature can throw at you. Warm, hot and sunny to Wet, windy and challenging!


Required Kit - We email out a much more detailed kit list upon booking but the main essentials are,


Comfortable trail running shoes with a good grip.

Running t-shirts(long & short sleeved)

Running shorts and/or tights.

Comfortable running backpack 10/15L

Capacity to carry 1 litre of water.

Fully Waterproof / Windproof jacket and pants.

Insulated Jacket(preferably synthetic)

Hat / Gloves / Buff.

Headtorch.

Sufficient amount of food for the day.


Example Itinerary -


Day 1 - 15km run with 700m of elevation gain in the Skorgedalen area and up onto the beautiful Strandafjellet with incredible views of the Fjord and spectacular mountains of Store Venegetind and Store Trolltind.


Day 2 - 18km, 1300m+ run in one of our favourite spots in the area Kvanndalen.


Day 3 - We have the option of either running the classic Romsdalseggen Ridge or Isfjordeggen Ridge. Both runs are similar distances and elevation gain of 12km with 1100m of ascent.
